Base pay range: $17.50/hr - $21.00/hr
Responsibilities- Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy and in other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with state, federal, and company regulations.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers on system and cash register use when PTCB certified.
- Provide a distinctive and delightful customer experience by greeting customers, offering assistance, resolving issues, and maintaining positive interactions.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with team members.
- Develop strong relationships with key customers.
- Ensure compliance with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct and good faith dispensing policies.
- Maintain accurate prescription data, verify medication correctness, check for interactions, and report errors immediately.
- Operate assigned cash registers, handle cash, and assist with OTC product location and inventory.
- Handle telephone calls to patients and physicians that do not require pharmacist attention.
- Process and correct manual claims for third‑party prescription programs.
- Assist with inventory management: ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and filing claims for overages or shortages.
- Support clinical services by collecting and labeling samples, coordinating with clinics and external providers.
- Build and maintain relationships with local medical community providers and outreach groups.
- Assist in exterior and interior maintenance to keep the Pharmacy Department stocked and orderly.
- Adhere to all company policies and complete special assignments as directed.
- Pursue and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program, and attend trainings, complete PPLs, and acquire continuing education credits.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Strong math skills for accurate prescription counting, measuring, and weighing.
- Good computer skills.
- Knowledge of store inventory control.
- PTCB certification.
