Base pay: $16.00/hr – $17.00/hr.
Schedule:
Varies. Every Wednesday 10am-12pm at 2400 Gaskins Rd, Richmond, VA for Walk‑In Wednesday events.
The Activity Assistant assists the Resident Programs team in leading and executing resident programs for the community. Resident programs should encompass activities that engage all senses and provide purposeful daily social and physical events that meet state requirements. The Activity Assistant carries out a specific set of tasks to fulfill the mission of the Resident Program Department, including providing transportation when needed, supporting the Program Director as required, and implementing resident activities daily.
Qualifications- A high school degree; additional college experience preferred but not required.
- Experience in a senior living environment strongly preferred.
- Two years’ experience in activities strongly preferred.
- Strong computer skills and general healthcare knowledge.
- Must have a clear and insurable driving record, current driver’s license, and willingness to drive a passenger van.
- Assists the Resident Program team with planning, developing, and preparing a variety of exercises, social, recreational and educational events.
- Conducts all transportation and medical transportation for residents.
- Maintains knowledge of the community, services, and events in the area and incorporates into the activity schedule as appropriate.
- Establishes a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff.
- Promotes teamwork and a positive attitude among staff and monitors/attends activities with other disciplines as necessary.
- Continually evaluates the quality and consistency of activities for residents and makes adjustments, corrections, and changes as necessary.
