- Assist the Occupational Therapist in delivering treatment plans to help residents regain independence in activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Carry out therapeutic activities to improve residents’ strength, coordination, mobility, cognition, and self-care abilities
- Monitor and document resident progress through accurate and timely notes and reports
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and care team members
- Support in training residents and families on techniques and use of adaptive equipment
- Follow established treatment protocols and safety guidelines under the direction of the Occupational Therapist
- Participate in care team meetings and collaborate to ensure a holistic, resident-centered care approach
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and Residents' Rights
- Perform other duties as directed by the Occupational Therapist or Director of Rehabilitation
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license and registration for the state of practice.
- Experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus, but not required
- Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, reliable, and committed to quality care and teamwork
