Job OverviewThe practice of ultrasonography is performed by an ultrasound technologist responsible for the administration of high-frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques to humans of all ages (newborn to geriatric) for medical purposes. A Sonographer/Technologist performs ultrasonography procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures as ordered or for interpretation by a licensed practitioner.
- Maintain records, respect confidentiality, and adhere to established policies.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort before, during, and after procedures.
- Evaluate image quality and ensure proper identification.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and ongoing education.
- Educate patients about imaging procedures.
- Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDCS) or CCI certification in cardiac sonography.
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sonographer/Technologist, with preferred 3-5 years.
- Graduation from an accredited program meeting certification requirements;
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Sign-on incentive of $6,000 available for offers accepted before June 30, 2025, with terms and conditions. Must be flexible with shift rotations, including weekends and after-hours as needed. The role involves physical activity such as lifting and prolonged standing, and requires the ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
