The Chaplain Hourly provides chaplaincy service to patients, families and staff of the VCU Medical Center.
** Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:

** Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:
** N/A    
** Experience

REQUIRED:

** One (1) full-time year post-Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) chaplaincy experience, which may include second year residency.

** Experience PREFERRED:
** Experience as a Chaplain in an academic medical center and Level 1 Trauma Center    
** Education/training

REQUIRED:

** 1 Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) through the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE). The most recent unit of CPE must have been completed in the last 7 years.
** Education/training PREFERRED**:

Two to three units of CPE through ACPE.Training at a level-1 trauma center and/or pediatric hospital.

** Independent action(s) required:
** Responds to requests for chaplaincy services/spiritual care.  Consults with department staff chaplains in complex patient care situations.

Ability to triage requests and multi-task.
** Supervisory responsibilities** (if applicable): N/A    
** Additional position requirements:
** Scheduled to work based on departmental needs including day of requests.
