Job Summary And Qualifications
  • Obtains quality mammograms with the ability to adapt to specific patient morphology.
  • Complies with radiation safety guidelines for patient and self, utilizes personal protective equipment and operates radiographic equipment safely and competently.
  • Performs all necessary computer operations (e.g., Meditech); ensures proper charges are entered and referring physician orders are verified.
  • Renders patient care in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Prepares examination rooms for mammography procedures, monitors inventory of supplies during room rotation, and maintains room cleanliness and neat appearance.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of quality assurance and assists in the implementation and documentation of all policies and procedures mandated by the FDA through MQSA.
  • Reviews each exam for technical accuracy (i.e., markers on images, technical quality, anatomical positioning, annotation, etc.) at the workstation and completes the verification process in PACS.
  • Demonstrates willingness to assist in additional duties such as film and report filing and answering the telephone when appropriate.
  • Completes and maintains educational requirements.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patient information in accordance with policy and procedure.
Qualifications You Will Need
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • (ARRT‑R) Radiography certification.
  • Vocational school graduate.
  • (ARRT‑M) Mammography, or Mammographic Radiologic Technologist certification.
  • One year of experience as a staff mammographer.
