- Labour hire contract until June 2026 with scope for extension
- Support First Nations advice to a Board via an Independent Advisory Council
- Full time preferred but 0.8 FTE would be considered
Our Federal Government client is seeking an EL 1 Independent Advisor to join the Independent Advisory Council (IAC). This Council provides critical advice to the Agency’s Board with the views of people with disability, carers and sector experts. Your role will be primarily responsible for supporting the work of IAC’s First Nations reference groups.
You will give technical advice and use your knowledge to help First Nations people with disabilities. The advice you help write through research and planning will be to help make things better.
The EL1 Independent Advisor IAC is a specialist-level advisor position accountable, under broad direction, to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the functions of the IAC.
Duties and Responsibilities- Writing formal pieces of advice
- Writing reports and papers to help people understand things better
- Research and planning
- Facilitating advice steering groups, presenting in meetings
- Capacity building sessions for members
- Helping others understand the environment and how to influence
The successful candidate will have experience in writing advice for government organisations. You will work with different groups and write in simple English for government papers.
LocationThis opportunity is available in the following office locations:
- Geelong, VIC
- Richmond, VIC
- Other locations may be considered for the right candidate
