The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join our Finance Team! This incubent will perform skilled technical work preparing, processing and distributing paychecks for RBHA, preparing, filing, and processing payroll related taxes and reports, preparing, distributing and submitting W-2s and related filings, managing employee leave, reconciling various general ledger accounts, reconciling payroll bank statement, preparing various spreadsheets, and related work as apparent or assigned.

Work is performed under the general direction of the Controller.

Essential Functions
  • Processes payroll; prepares and submits related payroll taxes and reports.
  • Prepares and submits worksite reports; prepares, submits and distributes W-2s.
  • Manages wage assignments; prepares salary and wage reports.
  • Prepares benefit related reports for Human Resources.
  • Codes quarterly invoices for unemployment claims paid.
  • Prepares payroll related spreadsheets in support of the annual budget process.
  • Prepares reports for external auditors.
  • Prepares and conducts annual Worker’s Compensation audit.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Controller or CFO.

Skills And Abilities
  • General knowledge of bookkeeping terminology and methods;
  • General knowledge of routine accounting principles;
  • Thorough knowledge of standard office methods and procedures;
  • Ability to maintain financial records and to prepare reports and statements;
  • Ability to make arithmetical computations quickly and accurately;
  • Ability to post accounts with speed and accuracy;
  • Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions;
  • Ability to operate efficiently a variety of office machines;
  • Ability to operate personal computer and related software packages, hardware and peripheral equipment;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors, vendors, State and Federal agency representatives and the general public.
