Senior Risk Specialist, Issues & Events Management
As a Senior Risk Specialist within the Card Risk team, you will engage with a team of risk managers, product owners and business leads in delivering flawlessly executed event and issue management. Each issue or event is a self‑contained project; it requires analysis of the underlying breakdown, identification of the right solution and ongoing execution to facilitate closure. As risk events and issues do not happen sequentially, you will concurrently manage multiple open items.
GeneralResponsibilities
- Guide business customers through Risk Event and Issue containment and remediation.
- Work with internal process owners, analysts, tech, and third parties.
- Analyze and interpret Risk Event and Issue results to determine corrective actions.
- Provide recommendations and guidance to the business.
- Coordinate, influence, and negotiate to ensure timelines are met and remediation projects move forward.
- Investigate root cause and implement problem‑solving for remediation projects.
- Maintain all artifacts, evidence and entries into the system of record.
- Train and develop others as necessary.
- Escalate situations to leadership in a timely manner using judgment.
- Drive process improvements aligned with desired customer outcomes.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise on Issue & Event processes in departmental projects and meetings.
- Use all Risk Management tools and systems available.
- Draft and deliver presentations with well‑reasoned information and cohesive data.
- Collaborate with team and business partners, sharing tools, ideas and expertise.
- Demonstrated outstanding communication, relationship building and collaboration across cross‑functional teams.
- Strong problem identification, resolution and analytical abilities.
- Experience managing multiple projects concurrently in an autonomous environment.
- Subject‑matter expertise in risk methodologies and corporate risk practices.
- High School Diploma, GED, military experience or equivalent certification.
- At least 2 years of Project or Process Management experience.
- At least 1 year of Operations, Financial Services Compliance or Risk Management experience.
- At least 1 year of experience partnering with internal business clients.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent military experience.
- 1 year of Risk Event/Issue Management experience.
- Certifications:
BPM, PMP, Six Sigma.
Richmond, VA: $87,700 – $100,100 for Sr. Risk Associate.
