Handling tax in a large, sophisticated organization requires more than a technical understanding of current practices. As a Sales and Use Tax Senior, you’ll apply your knowledge across a wide range of tax areas and processes, devising strategic outcomes for complex issues. Key Responsibilities- Work on a diverse array of projects, responsibilities, and tasks on an on‑demand basis.
- Provide up‑to‑minute tax advice that clients can rely on.
- Collaborate in a highly collaborative culture, sharing information and listening to colleagues.
- Analyze a portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights.
- Identify opportunities and risks and communicate them to clients.
- Research current market trends to maintain credibility as a trusted advisor.
- Develop clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve clients’ tax activities.
- Research clients’ business operations and build long‑lasting relationships tailored to their needs.
- Supervise a motivated team of professionals, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, and opportunities to reach their full potential.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
- Professional knowledge in a broad range of sales and use tax processes, concepts and tools.
- Proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization.
- Technical writing and research experience in a tax context.
- Ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects.
- Strong influencing skills and confidence to question existing processes.
- Willingness to travel as needed and comfortable working in a balanced hybrid environment.
- Achieved or partially achieved CPA qualification, or certification as a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, CMI designation, or ability to sit for a state bar.
