Summary: This is a Senior Underwriting position responsible for marketing, underwriting and processing assigned lines of business. Responsibilities may also include participating in special projects and mentoring less experienced staff.

• Underwrite and analyze new business and renewal submissions for the assigned area.
• Ensure marketing initiatives are achieved and that consistent communication of products and services is provided to our retail and wholesale brokers.
• Further develop existing broker relations as well as establish new relationships in targeted territories to attract business opportunities.
• Actively participate in client and broker meetings.
• Develop and maintain a submission pipeline sufficient to achieve overall production and business mix objectives.
• Use market contacts to bring in business, gather and share market intelligence and cross-sell other products.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• A strong desire to continually update your skills through continuing education and self-development.
• Previous insurance educational work; IIA and CPCU designations are strongly preferred.
• Minimum of five years underwriting experience with authority.
• Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to meeting and exceeding expectations on every interaction.
• Demonstrated robust relationships with professional liability specialist brokers in the Central U.S. market.
• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of favorable win/win outcomes.
• Adaptability and ability to thrive in change.
• Execution-focused with the ability to deliver results.
• Proven ability to collect, analyze and interpret information to underwrite accounts profitably.
• Advanced knowledge of computer programs, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.
