Stantec is seeking a Senior Transportation Leader to grow our roadway design group in Virginia and partner across our practices to strategically grow our infrastructure business. Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for project delivery including managing projects and task orders and overall contract management.

  • Planning, analysis and design of projects, effective planning of work to meet schedules and budgets.

  • Provide direction and coordinate staff as necessary to complete assignments.

  • Partner with the Stantec leadership to grow the transportation roadway design business in Virginia by recruiting and retaining staff; leading transportation business opportunity pursuits; and collaborating with other practices to deliver for our Virginia clients.

  • Design and detailing of streets, roadways, highways, and interchanges to meet local, state and federal requirements.

  • Review work, mentor staff, prepare proposals, deliver project presentations and project management.

  • Actively participate in the marketing process by assisting the account teams in cultivating client relationships and position for future opportunities.

  • Assist with the preparation and/or review of proposals.

  • Contribute to overall long term business planning and strategies to advance Stantec's relationships and bottom-line growth in Virginia.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Experience in leading projects and teams in the delivery of VDOT transportation projects

  • Good communication skills, multi-tasking, attentiveness to detail.

  • Experience in managing client relationships and participating in marketing services including proposal preparation and presentation participation.

  • Willingness to engage with industry organizations and events.

  • Ability to use Bentley Open Roads Designer (ORD).

  • Ability to use or familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Proficient implementation and knowledge of AASHTO and VDOT design directives and specifications

  • Demonstrates good communication skills with fellow workers and clients.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related degree

  • Minimum of fifteen+ (15+) years of transportation design experience

  • Virginia Professional Engineer (P.E.) Registration

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.

Pay Transparency:
In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
