We provide diverse mechanical services to meet our customer’s needs, ranging from engineering and installing heating and cooling systems to maintaining and troubleshooting commercial/industrial HVAC and fire protection systems. eTEC’s mission is to provide commercial and industrial HVAC, plumbing, piping and fire protection systems for customers who need a single source mechanical contractor.
We are the only mechanical service provider in central Virginia able to efficiently provide professional in-house engineering, installation and maintenance for HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems to the commercial and industrial market.
Support the Preconstruction department in a variety of tasks to include accurate bidding of plumbing and HVAC work along with assisting in daily operations or tasks as delegated by the Preconstruction Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Review Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, and Plumbing drawings/specifications in order to compile an accurate cost estimate.
- Take off quantity of items (pipe, valves, fittings, ductwork, equipment, etc.) from mechanical and plumbing drawings.
- Input takeoff (quantity survey) from your own or other estimator’s work to prepare accurate and complete estimates.
- Obtain scopes of work and pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assist in the bid review process, attend turnover meetings, etc.
- Perform job site surveys and meetings with contractors, facility managers, owners, etc.
- Analyze historical data, help prepare budgets, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering/business or five years of HVAC industry experience.
- Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Career minded.
- Detail Oriented:
Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well. - Physical activities include standing, balancing, climbing stairs and ladders, walking and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.
