Job Duties
  • Conduct inspections and sanitary surveys of groundwater source waterworks.
  • Interpret federal and state regulations applicable to waterworks owners and operators.
  • Provide guidance to owners and operators to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Assist waterworks to return to compliance when they violate drinking water standards.
  • Train operators in the operation and maintenance of waterworks.
  • Provide information about drinking water quality to the general public.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of biology, microbiology, chemistry, and math.
  • Knowledge of technology associated with provision of drinking water.
  • Experience in expressing facts clearly, verbally and in writing.
  • Experience in effectively communicating (written/verbal) in English and presenting at public meetings.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting law, regulations, policies, and technical documents.
Additional Considerations
  • Licensure as a waterworks operator.
  • Previous experience with water related regulation.
