Job Duties- Conduct inspections and sanitary surveys of groundwater source waterworks.
- Interpret federal and state regulations applicable to waterworks owners and operators.
- Provide guidance to owners and operators to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Assist waterworks to return to compliance when they violate drinking water standards.
- Train operators in the operation and maintenance of waterworks.
- Provide information about drinking water quality to the general public.
- Working knowledge of biology, microbiology, chemistry, and math.
- Knowledge of technology associated with provision of drinking water.
- Experience in expressing facts clearly, verbally and in writing.
- Experience in effectively communicating (written/verbal) in English and presenting at public meetings.
- Experience in reading and interpreting law, regulations, policies, and technical documents.
- Licensure as a waterworks operator.
- Previous experience with water related regulation.
