Job Description
Timmons Group is seeking a full‑time Environmental Scientist (Compliance) for our Environmental Group located in our Richmond, VA office.
The Environmental Scientist will be responsible for providing environmental compliance services associated with construction of data centers, residential developments, commercial properties, utilities, and transportation development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Environmental compliance (VPDES) inspections and reporting
- Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) development and auditing
- Coordinating with federal and state resource agencies regarding wetlands, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater compliance
- Best Management Practices (BMP) construction monitoring
- Virginia Water Protection (VWP) construction monitoring
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines under limited supervision
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Outstanding communication skills
- Experience working with a diverse client base in both the public and private sectors
- Willingness to regularly travel regionally and out‑of‑state
- At least one year of experience performing erosion and sediment control and/or stormwater compliance inspections and reporting preferred
- Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) erosion and sediment control and/or stormwater certifications preferred
