Job Description
At LEGO Manufacturing Virginia, we are building more than products — we are building capabilities, improving processes, and shaping the future of our operations. We are looking for a Production Engineer to join our Prepack area, a critical part of our manufacturing value stream where performance, quality, and continuous improvement come together.
Responsibilities- Creation, improvement and change of procedures, followed to a successful deployment.
- Support during the installation of new equipment and engineering changes.
- Daily support in production lines.
- Search for opportunity areas to improve equipment and processes.
- Contact with suppliers, handle quotations and purchases.
- Lead improvement projects following LEGO Project Management guidelines.
- Lead continuous improvement projects following LEGO Continuous Improvement (LCI) guidelines.
- Comply with IMS requirements.
- Maintain and update information systems (Combi, SAP BW, reports, etc).
- Interact and support production systems.
- Support other areas for implementations of projects where production could be affected.
- Implement and maintain LCI tools.
Play your part in our team succeeding! This role will have exposure to work with different areas in the Virginia site and other sites, seeing topics that vary from day-to-day operation in Prepack, to brand protection and novelty confidentiality with several departments.
Prepack is where individual LEGO bricks become a complete and trusted part of a LEGO set. Through advanced automation and precise verification, the team transforms molded parts into accurately counted and sealed inner bags that meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance—creating the foundation for every LEGO experience built around the world.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in engineering in a manufacturing facility.
- Experience in packaging processes preferable.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
- Advanced proficiency in structured problem‑solving methodologies (PDCA, RCA, 5 Why, FMEA, etc), applied across safety, quality, and performance domains.
- Experience leading cross‑functional improvement initiatives, kaizens, or task forces with a sense of proactiveness.
- Strong capability to move from analysis to sustainable, system‑level solutions, not just local fixes.
- Proven ability to mentor and coach supervisors, technical and operators teams elevating overall capability.
- Strong data analysis skills to interpret daily performance metrics (OEE, PPH, downtime, losses) and translate data into clear actions and priorities.
- PC advanced level (Office), Power
BI and data management. - Project execution, integrated management system (safety and quality) experience.
- Project Management Skills.
- Greenfield technologies experience.
The salary for this position has a range of $84,674.00 - $ based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalisation of the employment offer.
