Senior Roadway/Transportation Engineer

Dewberry is currently seeking a Senior Transportation/Roadway Project Engineer in our growing Fairfax or Richmond, VA offices. The successful candidate will work on all phases of Transportation Projects for a variety of public and private sector clients. Transportation projects will include interchanges, roadway widenings, roundabout design, bridge projects, drainage systems, storm water management, utility relocations and preparation of contract documents; primarily for Caltrans and public agencies.

• Transportation projects will include horizontal and vertical road alignments, drainage systems, storm water management, traffic studies, utility relocations, development of maintenance of traffic plans, and preparation of contract documents.
• The successful candidate must be flexible, technologically savvy, and client focused.
• The work required by the successful candidate is diverse and requires strong capabilities in AutoCAD, Microstation, and Microsoft Office Suite.

• * BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• * VA PE license, or the ability to obtain within 1 year.
• * 5+ years of experience in transportation engineering.
• * Proficient with Microstation.
• * Ability to work in a timely fashion to meet project budgets.
• * Ability to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and county/agency review staff.
• * Ability to compose technical reports, memorandums, and other written communication.
• * Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
