Key Responsibilities
  • Manages project technical tasks including completing design work, calculations, writing specifications and technical reports on water and wastewater projects.
  • Coordinates design and report deliverable packages for submission to clients and approval authorities.
  • Coordinates with the Project Manager and attends meetings with clients, team members and sub‑consultants.
  • Understands and implements industry standards, client and regulatory requirements.
  • Assists in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations and communications pertaining to deliverables.
  • Co‑ordinates with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
  • Prepares engineering documents and contract documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules.
  • Evaluates, selects, specifies and engineers process mechanical systems for projects.
  • Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects.
  • Assists in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to RFI, prepares site observation reports and performs contract administration tasks.
  • Participates in basic cost estimating under the direction of technical leaders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.
  • Involvement in regional industry professional associations.
  • All other duties as required and assigned.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Efficient task management and technical execution on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Broad understanding of municipal engineering, hydraulics, and process mechanical systems design.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and their impacts on project sites.
  • Requisite knowledge, interpretation, and application of design and construction codes.
  • Strong understanding of all phases of project document production.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; basic Revit knowledge is a plus.
  • Cooperative skills and ability to work efficiently within a team.
  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of seven years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain one within twelve (12) months.
Pay Range
  • MN, OH, VT & Various CA, NY Areas – Min Salary $107,100 – Max Salary $160,700
  • CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas – Min Salary $117,800 – Max Salary $176,800
  • WA, DC & Various CA, MA areas – Min Salary $126,400 – Max Salary $189,600
Pay Transparency

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. The final agreed compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.

Benefits Summary

Regular full‑time and part‑time employees (≥20 hrs/week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, stock purchase program, AD&D insurance, disability plans, travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage, and paid family leave. Employees receive ten paid holidays per year, and accrue vacation 10–20 days annually with paid sick leave per state/local law.
