This Position reports to:
Engineering Manager

In this role, you will have the opportunity to conduct testing and verification activities for assignments of systems, subsystems, or products effectively and cost‑efficiently. Each day, you will provide technical support during the installation of test objects in the test area. You will also showcase your expertise by preparing project test documentation.

The work model for the role is Onsite.

This role is contributing to the ABB Electrification Smart Power division in Richmond, VA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Executing testing according to schedule.
  • Making risk assessments to assure safe and cybersecure systems of work and taking appropriate actions.
  • Ensuring all applicable requirements, maintaining test reports and certificates that prove compliance with required and applicable standards, market, or regulatory requirements in line with customer specifications, legal, or ABB internal requirements.
  • Maintaining a network of engineering professionals and sharing best practices across different projects.
Qualifications
  • Associates degree in a technical field (electrical preferred) or electrical/electronics certification.
  • 2+ years experience in an electrical field (electrical test environment preferred).
  • Proven competency working with 3 phase power systems and the electrification power protection sector.
  • Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Proven experience using electrical measurement equipment in electrical testing environments.
  • You are passionate about contributing to the development of production and safety processes used in an industrial environment.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the United States.
