This position involves a balance of structural design and inspection work, focusing on transportation structures such as bridges and ancillary facilities, as well as waterfront installations like piers and wharves. The role requires a combination of office and fieldwork, with some travel involved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently manage technical aspects related to your area of expertise.
  • Provide technical engineering support to project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure compliance with engineering standards and specifications.
  • Analyze and resolve field or design issues efficiently.
  • Offer expertise in complex engineering calculations and act as a technical specialist on diverse projects.
  • Participate actively in technical societies and contribute to engineering publications.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate project phases to ensure timely completion.
  • Ensure a strong client focus within project teams and processes.
  • Lead the pursuit process, preparing proposals, estimating costs, and ensuring project quality and profitability.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to project teams and support staff.
  • Act as a mentor to junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Champion safety practices and ensure specialized training in health and safety procedures for staff.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in project engineering.
  • Experience in the inspection and design of structures such as bridges, roadways, railroads, marinas, and ports.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) and/or Structural Engineer (S.E.) license required.
  • Proven expertise and competency as a major resource in your field.
