Essential Functions
- Assist in leading our structural design and engineering group throughout Virginia with development and delivery of structural assignments
- Assist with Business Development, Marketing and Team to secure future clients and workload
- Provide structural expertise on all project aspects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs, and preparation of contract documents for construction followed by construction administration with respect to the structural aspects of the project
- Serve as Project/Program Manager on a variety of structure related projects
- Produce construction documents, specifications, and construction cost estimates is a plus
- Facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approval of plans
- Serve as liaison between client and firm
- QA/QC for completeness and accuracy of design work
- Provide bridge inspection for clients as needed
- Provide engineering judgment and initiative within the Structural Engineering field
- Hire, train, and mentor entry level and junior level structural engineers
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
- Minimum Ten (10) years of bridge design/inspection experience
- Excellent communication skills including proposal development
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Virginia
- VDOT structures/bridge experience, including experience on VDOT DB Projects
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering
