Role OverviewBased in Richmond, VA, the Supplier Quality Engineer will ensure all purchased materials meet LEGO’s strict quality, compliance, and sustainability standards. You will oversee supplier performance across categories (Printing & Packing, Resin & Master‑batch) and drive continuous improvement while maintaining strong partnerships with internal teams and external suppliers.
Core Responsibilities- Proactively manage supplier claims, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement actions to prevent issues, including FSC discrepancies.
- Plan, lead, and document supplier audits; identify non‑conformities, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Verify the effectiveness of corrective measures to handle and avert issues uncovered through claims and audits.
- Support and develop suppliers in establishing quality improvement programs.
- Implement and maintain incoming inspection procedures and processes for handling non‑conforming materials.
- Gather, monitor, and analyze supplier performance metrics (e.g., PPM, OTD, NCRs); generate reports and dashboards.
- Collaborate closely with Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, R&D, and other departments to resolve quality issues.
- Create and maintain accurate documentation related to supplier quality operations.
- Contribute to the Global SQM Team’s standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Escalate critical supplier issues, risks, or non‑compliances promptly to leadership and stakeholders.
- Experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer or Quality Assurance role in manufacturing production.
- ISO 9001:2015 Auditor experience.
- Direct experience managing suppliers in Printing, Packaging, or Resin & Plastics categories.
- Proficiency conducting supplier audits, handling non‑conformances, and managing CAPA.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, FSC certification, and sustainable sourcing standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Materials Science, or related technical discipline.
- Preferred certifications: ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CSQP, ASQ CQE.
- Fluent English.
- Field‑based position at the LEGO Virginia manufacturing factory in Richmond; not remote.
Salary range: $81,810 – $122,716 annual. Compensation details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon offer.
