Electrical Designer II – Merrick & Company

We’re looking for an Electrical Designer II to design power systems for heavy industrial, oil, gas, and chemical facilities. Positions are available in Tulsa, OK;
Greenwood Village, CO; and Richmond, VA.

• Apply knowledge of building systems
• Utilize working knowledge of codes and standards including NFPA 70, 72, 101, 110, 780; UL 96A; ASHRAE 90.1 and building codes
• Assist the Lead/Electrical Engineer with coordinating with building/facility owners
• Design power distribution, panel board schedules, grounding and protection designs
• Coordinate power utilization connections
• Document calculations ensuring code compliance for lighting, power load, and voltage drop
• Fire alarm, telecommunications, CCTV and intrusion detection system design
• Provide quality control reviews for self‑performed and others’ designs
• Conduct field inspections and prepare reports
• Work with Design/Engineering Managers to ensure project schedules are met and documents delivered for each submission

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in electrical design and drafting
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; insurable under Merrick insurance
• Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
