MBP is seeking a Building Enclosure Commissioning Specialist to support our expanding portfolio of BECx projects from early design through construction and into the warranty phase. We have already built a strong foundation with committed clients and a steady pipeline of opportunities, and now we're looking for a detail-oriented professional who excels at delivering high-quality work, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and solving problems in the field.
If you have three to ten years of experience in the design, analysis, or commissioning of commercial building enclosure systems and are looking to focus on meaningful technical execution on projects of significance, we want to hear from you. This role offers a rewarding long-term career with the option to grow into future leadership roles.
ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Do:
As a Building Enclosure Commissioning Specialist at MBP, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality enclosure commissioning services that improve building performance, reduce lifecycle costs, and support long-term durability for our clients' facilities. You will work closely with owners, architects, contractors, and our internal commissioning teams to execute project-specific BECx activities in alignment with industry best practices.
- Conduct reviews of drawings, specifications, and submittals to verify enclosure performance criteria are met.
- Develop project-specific BECx Plans and specifications.
- Perform site observations during construction to assess installation quality and document findings clearly and professionally, provide practical recommendations, and verify corrective actions in the field.
- Coordinate and witness enclosure performance testing, such as air barrier testing, water infiltration testing, and thermal assessments.
- Support post-occupancy and warranty-phase evaluations to confirm long-term enclosure performance and client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with MBP project managers and best practice teams to continuously improve MBP's standards of quality, communication, and client service.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, values technical rigor, and thrives in a collaborative environment where their expertise directly contributes to project success.

- Design Review
Skills:
Ability to review architectural drawings, details, and specifications to identify potential enclosure risks, inconsistencies, or performance concerns. - Testing Coordination: Familiarity with enclosure performance testing methods (air leakage, water penetration, adhesion testing, infrared thermography, etc.) and experience coordinating or witnessing these tests.
- Code & Standard Awareness: Working knowledge of building science principles, relevant codes, and standards such as LEED v4, ASTM, AAMA, ABAA, and ASHRAE guidelines related to building enclosure performance.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with owners, designers, contractors, and MBP team members. Excellent written communication skills to prepare clear, concise, and technically accurate documentation.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to assess field conditions, identify root causes of enclosure issues, and provide practical, technically sound recommendations.
- Organizational

Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate documentation, and support BECx activities at various project stages. - Professional Credentials: Licensed Architect, Engineer, or certifications such as BECxP, CxA+BE, ABAA CABS, or RRO/RRC preferred (not required; MBP will support future credential attainment).
