The Benedictine Schools of Richmond seek an innovative, collaborative, high school English teacher primarily for Benedictine College Preparatory. Experience preferred. This is a ten-month teaching position and faculty report to work in mid-August 2026.
Responsibilities- Teach college preparatory, honors, and possibly AP level courses in
- Create and deliver lessons that expose students to rigorous literature, while encouraging writing development with an eye toward research.
- Support the mission of the school, model its Benedictine values, and journey with students as they become confident, competent, and compassionate men and women.
- Utilize the school’s student information system to post assignments, units of study, and related course materials to support student self-initiative and self-advocacy.
- Assume standard non-curricular responsibilities assigned to all faculty which may include, but not limited to, a daily advisory period for select students.
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
- Virginia state teaching license preferred (but not required)
- Degree in Literature, Language and Composition, or similar field.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Google Apps for Education and teaching in a 1:1 environment preferred
