Trinity is seeking a Music Teacher who will oversee the strings program and direct our orchestra. Additional music responsibilities include directing the vocal ensemble, teaching other music electives as needed and assisting in collaborative ventures between the music and theater departments.
The Trinity music program’s philosophy is to nurture the development of students’ innate creativity, actively exploring a breadth of musical cultures and styles within an environment designed to build self-confidence in musical expression and encourage continuous refinement of musical skills. Staff and students together seek to identify, internalize and display the qualities that make music such a meaningful part of the human experience.

The ideal candidate- Possesses a thorough knowledge of strings techniques
- Will direct the school orchestra, with the ability to effectively model these by competently playing a string instrument (one or more of the following: violin, viola, cello, double bass)
- Possesses familiarity with vocal techniques in directing the school chorus, with the ability to effectively model these by competent singing
- Teaches other courses such as Piano 1 and 2
- Models reflective practice, adjusting as required to support student performance
- Creates a classroom environment centered on the needs and skills of individual learners
- Shows initiative in selecting musical literature that explores distinctions and commonalities of impactful music across various cultures and styles, fostering an appreciation for diversity alongside a strong sense of inclusivity and unity
- Has a firm understanding of the cognitive development and needs of students from grades 8 through 12
- Communicates clearly, fostering partnerships with colleagues, students and parents
- Enjoys collaboration with other educators
- Values continual professional growth
- Is open to teaching other classes and/or filling additional school program needs
- Is willing to support extracurricular activities, such as occasional rehearsals, as needed, for music and theater productions
