Job Description & How to Apply Below

Trinity Episcopal School is seeking an energetic, joyful, and passionate individual for a full-time position as a Technology & Innovation Teacher who will also coach our FIRST Robotics Team (Team 539). This role is within the Technology Department and collaborates closely with many stakeholders across campus.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic educator who loves working with teenagers, brings a positive and flexible mindset and is excited to inspire students to design, build, tinker, code and problem‑solve. This position requires working with students and colleagues in an open, collaborative environment within the classroom, in after‑school activities, within the IB framework and across the larger school community.

The Technology & Innovation Teacher will actively use a variety of instructional strategies that promote curiosity, critical thinking and creativity, including the innovative use of technology and hands‑on, project‑based learning experiences. We believe technology education and the broader skills associated with teamwork, creative design and problem‑solving are essential to a well‑rounded education. A strong candidate will model these capacities and demonstrate the ability to invite student exploration and make meaningful cross‑curricular connections to other disciplines.

This colleague will be responsible for teaching and further developing coursework that builds on our existing offerings, including Programming Through Game Development, Robotics, Design Thinking and Innovation and related courses. The teacher will design and deliver engaging instruction, assess a wide range of student needs and learning styles, facilitate use of the makerspace and guide students through design and build processes.

This teacher will serve as a coach and mentor for Trinity’s co‑curricular robotics team, helping students prepare for competitions, build community and grow as collaborative problem‑solvers. The expectation is that the coach will be supervising students in after‑school practices and all competitions.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, computer science, technology, industrial design, science or related field strongly preferred
  • Passion for hands‑on teaching, design thinking and working with high school students
  • Commitment to a holistic, student‑centered approach to technology education
  • Joyful, positive presence and strong desire to inspire teenagers
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate within a vibrant, supportive professional community
  • Commitment to integrating educational technology across the curriculum in partnership with the Technology department.
Preferred
  • Strong background in computer science and/or advanced programming languages
  • Experience with robotics instruction and/or coaching
  • Proficiency with makerspace tools, including 3D printers, CNC routers, hand and power tools and related equipment
  • Experience with project‑based learning, innovation and design‑thinking pedagogy
  • Interest in building partnerships with universities and industry partners
