Job Description:

The Workforce Outreach Coordinator (Restricted) plays a vital role in connecting NOVA Workforce with the broader community by planning, coordinating, and promoting outreach initiatives that increase awareness and participation in workforce training programs. Located within the NOVA Workforce Division, this position supports student recruitment, engagement, and outreach aligned with college and departmental goals.

This position is not eligible for telework.

Duties And Tasks
  • The coordinator develops and implements targeted strategies to attract adult learners, career changers, and other populations identified through workforce development priorities; guiding prospective students from initial interest through enrollment.
  • Represent NOVA Workforce at external events, meetings, and networking functions.
  • Serve as a point of contact for prospective students.
  • Responsible for reporting, data tracking, and other outreach initiatives.
  • Drive student recruitment, engagement, and enrollment growth while strengthening community and industry partnerships.
  • Ensure adult learners receive guidance and support to successfully navigate training and career pathways and promote workforce programs to the populations who need them most.
  • Maximize outreach, build relationships, and increase program visibility.
  • Directly support NOVA Workforce’s strategic goals, enhance program impact, and contribute to long-term student and community workforce success.
  • This position is restricted and funded with non-continuous or non-recurring funding and is subject to continuation based on fiscal year funds and the needs of the College.
Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

  • Knowledge of workforce development, adult education, and career pathways.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills across diverse community and industry settings.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation in both virtual and in-person environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CRM or enrollment tracking systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to diverse adult audiences.
Minimum Work Experience

KSA’s/Required Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating community events and outreach initiatives.
  • Experience working with adult learners, career changers, or other nontraditional student populations.
  • Experience developing social media or digital engagement content.
  • Experience with data management systems.
  • Must be able to travel locally and work occasional evenings or weekends.
Additional Considerations
  • Higher education experience, and/or community college experience, adult student outreach, and workforce development setting.
  • Familiarity with workforce certificate programs.
  • Bilingual fluency (Spanish preferred).
