Adjunct/Continuing Education Faculty:
The rate per credit hour will commensurate with education and relevant or teaching experience. Emergency/Essential Personnel EEO Category I-Faculty Full Time or Part Time:
Part Time Telework options available as subject to business needs. Bilingual or multilingual skills not required.
Adjunct faculty teach a variety of day, evening, and weekend college level courses, including distance learning on and off campus. Teaching may occur at the Middletown Campus, Fauquier Campus, and Luray–Page County Center as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and delivering course content, lectures, and assessments.
- Facilitating online, hybrid, or in‑person classroom experiences.
- Communicating effectively with diverse populations of faculty, staff, and students.
- Participating in faculty meetings and departmental activities as required.
- Performing other duties as assigned or as part of emergency response for the agency or state government.
- Master’s degree in Mathematics or 18 graduate credits in the field.
- Ability to use instructional technology (e.g., Canvas, other online course management tools).
- College‑level teaching experience; online experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students.
- Occupational experience in the field of mathematics.

The rate per credit hour will commensurate with education and relevant teaching experience. This part‑time position is not eligible for health or leave benefits, but may offer educational benefits through our professional development and educational assistance policies.
TeleworkAccording to DHRM policy 1.61 Teleworking, effective July 5, 2022, Virginia state employees will return to the workplace. Consistent with pre‑pandemic policies, telework may be an option for certain eligible positions. Eligibility is determined by the type of work and job requirements of the position, as defined by heads of agencies.
