Position Details:

  Biology Faculty member
• Instructional Focus: teach courses within traditional classroom, hybrid, HyFlex, and online instructional environments with a focus on a strong pedagogical approach and quality student learning assessments.
• Employment Type:
  
  9-Month, 24-pay, Teaching Faculty position with full state benefits. Anticipated start date is August 2026.

BRCC faculty are expected to participate in institutional development such as service and leadership on college committees, academic advising, and mentoring adjunct faculty within the discipline. The position includes participation in scholarly engagement and professional development, which includes teaching pedagogy, institutional responsibility, and community service to both the campus and surrounding communities. Full-time faculty positions come with holiday time and comprehensive benefits.

Candidates selected for interview will be required to facilitate a teaching demonstration as part of the interview process.

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. Occasional travel may be required.

• Master’s degree in Biology with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in core Biology content
• Experience using a variety of computer software programs and ability to learn new ones, particularly related to online instruction
• Ability to teach students effectively and create lesson plans
• Passion for the field of Biology and for teaching
• Ability to use creativity, innovation, and compassion to instruct and engage students
• Ability to teach a diverse student population

• Community college or university teaching experience in classroom, hybrid, HyFlex, as well as synchronous and asynchronous online modalities
• Documented track record of innovation in the classroom, teaching, and soft skills
• Academic program management experience or program management equivalent
• Demonstrated ability to work well with others
