Adjunct Instructor Pool - Customized Business & Leadership Training

Overview

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is seeking adjunct instructors to support customized training, consulting and coaching programs for businesses and organizations across the region. The position is on-campus (not remote) and may require day, evening, weekend, and multiple-location offerings.

• Provide effective didactic and skills instruction to engage adult learners; maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
• Adhere to policies and procedures; serve as a role model and advocate for student success.
• Maintain participation and performance records; collaborate with faculty and staff on curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment.
• Provide timely responses to student, staff and partner inquiries; report incidents; participate in professional development and partner onboarding requirements.
• Maintain professional competence, certifications/licensure; provide analysis and reports.
• Support customized training projects focused on change management, conflict resolution, customer service, diversity and equity, leadership development, organizational culture, process improvement, and supervisory skills.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned and assist in emergencies as needed.

• Combination of education, industry credentials and occupational experience to demonstrate content expertise.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience teaching adult learners and/or in a community college.
• Commitment to community college philosophy and student success.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, education, human resources or related field.
