Adjunct Faculty Pool - Pharmacy Technician

Overview

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is seeking an innovative and collaborative adjunct instructor for the Pharmacy Technician Program. Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. The successful candidate will teach a maximum of 12 credits per semester (fall/spring), which could include day, evening and weekend, off-campus, or distance education courses. Primarily face-to-face with the possibility of remote instruction.

• Teach developmental and/or college-level courses, which may include distance-learning courses during the day and evening, on weekdays and weekends.
• Develop syllabi, exams, learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
• Work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds; use current and emerging technologies to enhance instruction.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned and assist in emergency declarations when needed.

• High School diploma;
  Associate degree in a health-related field preferred
• PTCB Certification required
• Five or more years pharmacy technician experience (sterile compounding a plus)
• Ability to deliver instruction in the classroom, online, and in lab environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills in both an individual and group setting
• Work effectively as a team member to ensure that departmental goals are met
• Ability to work in a virtual environment using multiple software programs simultaneously including MS Office, Canvas, Gmail, Zoom, etc.

• Pharmacy Technician training experience
• Community College or training program teaching experience
