Emergency/Essential Personnel.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Thursday – 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Evening Weekly Instructor.
Telework options: subject to change based on business needs. No bilingual or multilingual skill requirement or preference specified.
ResponsibilitiesAdjunct teaching responsibilities vary as needed by the institution and shall include such combinations on‑ and off‑campus, day, evening, distance learning, and weekend classes. Individuals may only teach a total of 12 workload credits in each term (fall and spring) and 8 workload credits in the summer term.
- Teaching:
Creating a learning environment that facilitates students’ acquisition of knowledge and skills in a subject. Teaching encompasses four components:
Instructional Design, Instructional Delivery, Instructional Effectiveness, and Instructional Expertise. - Scholarly and Creative Engagement:
Engage in scholarly and/or creative activity, which may include conference attendance and presentation, professional organizations participation, academic coursework, scholarly research and publications, and grant activity. - Institutional Responsibility:
Perform assigned or presumed duties according to one’s role at the college. These activities support the mission of the VCCS and the college and include participating in the college’s development and evaluation plan for part‑time teaching faculty; participating in department, committee and college meetings; adhering to college and VCCS policies; performing assigned duties; and maintaining a collegial relationship with faculty and staff. - Service:
Quality participation and commitment to students, college and/or community organizations, and college representation, citizenship, and community development.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
- May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
Associate’s or equivalent in Welding (as noted in the VCCS‑29). - 5 years of related work experience.
