Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. Responsibilities include teaching developmental and/or college-level courses, which may include distance-learning courses during the day and evening, on weekdays and weekends. Primarily face-to-face with the possibility of remote instruction.

• Instruct entry level Health Information Management course(s) to prepare students to take the Certified Coding Specialist (CCS). Course content may include electronic billing, reimbursement issues, CPT classifications and/or pharmacology.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

• The successful candidate will possess expert skills, knowledge, experience and education in the subject area and a history of successful teaching or related experience.
• Applicants must be currently credentialed as CCS, RHIT or RHIA and have at least two years of coding experience.
• Minimum Education Required - must be a currently certified coding specialist (CCS) and have three years of hospital coding experience.
• Two years teaching experience, work experience in the field, and experience with online teaching (Additional Considerations).
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, 5 years of coding experience, coding teaching experience.
• Current Registered Health Information Administrator or Health Information Technician Certificate and an Associate’s Degree.
