Adjunct Instructor Pool – Agriculture & Hospitality. Position Type:
Part Time.

Location:

PVCC on campus (Albany? Albemarle area). This is an on-campus position (not remote). The Workforce Services division offers courses in the agriculture and hospitality industries, including horticulture, beekeeping, landscape design, viticulture and enology, brewing, distilling, food and wine pairing, and cannabis cultivation. Courses may be offered day, evening, weekend, and at various locations.

• Provide effective didactic and skills instruction to engage adult learners.
• Maintain a positive and safe learning environment and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Serve as a role model and advocate for student success.
• Hold review, remediation and office hours sessions for students.
• Maintain participation and performance records; collaborate with faculty and staff on curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment.
• Provide timely responses to student, staff and partner inquiries; report incidents.
• Participate in professional development and partner onboarding requirements; maintain professional competence and certifications/licensure.
• Assist in student recruitment activities.

• At least two (2) years of occupational experience in the proposed teaching area.
• Combination of education and industry credentials to demonstrate content expertise.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Commitment to community college philosophy and student success.

• Experience teaching adult learners and/or in a community college setting.
• Experience using Canvas or a similar learning management system.
• Associates degree.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification.
