School of BTT Welding (FRIDAY EVENING & SATURDAY DAY) Adjunct Faculty (Part-Time)
We are seeking an adjunct faculty member for the School of Business, Technology, and Trades (BTT), to teach Friday evening and Saturday day welding classes. Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course‑by‑course, semester basis as needed.
Job Responsibilities- Teach welding courses on Friday evenings and Saturday days.
- Develop syllabi, exams, learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
- Maintain currency in welding discipline and in community college education trends.
- Engage in departmental communication and faculty collaboration.
- May be required to perform additional duties assigned or assist in emergencies.
- High school diploma with five years of current occupational experience in welding.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in writing syllabi and exams.
- Ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
- Ability to work with students of varied abilities and diverse backgrounds.
- Possession of AWS certification and/or formal education in a certificate or apprenticeship program in welding from an accredited school (preferred).
- AWS certification.
- Formal education in accredited welding program.

- Official transcripts required for selected candidates.

- Part‑time (course‑by‑course).
- Pay: per credit hour rate determined based on qualifications.
- Location:
Roanoke, VA (on campus). - No telework options; positions are on‑site.
- No travel required.
