Overview
VCUarts Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Craft and Material Studies. The department is establishing a pool of applicants for possible adjunct teaching positions. The adjunct pool will be consulted and qualified applicants contacted on an as-needed basis. Candidates should demonstrate awareness of the diverse field, knowledge of media specialization, technical proficiency, experience with a variety of teaching strategies, and the ability to teach effectively at the college level.
TypicalDuties

Adjunct faculty are expected to be enthusiastic ambassadors for the Department of Craft and Material Studies and to work with a student population from all backgrounds in a collaborative, learning-centered community of instructors, students, faculty and staff.
QualificationsPreferred Qualifications
Expertise in the area of teaching specialization is highly desirable. An active exhibition record and previous teaching experience at the college level are preferred.
Minimum Qualifications- Terminal degree (Master’s in Fine Arts) is preferred or training and professional experience that equates to a terminal degree.
- Appropriate teaching experience and/or strong oral presentation and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
