The Business Essentials Unit in the School of Business at Virginia Commonwealth University is recruiting a pool of applicants for adjunct faculty positions on an ongoing basis. When funding becomes available, the Undergraduate Studies Office will contact applicants whose credentials match our teaching needs.

BUSN 323:
Basic legal concepts applicable to business, including the legal aspects of operating a business, contracts, employment relationships, sales, and bailments and commercial paper. Also includes ethical considerations and social and political influences.

As an Adjunct Instructor in the Business Essentials Unit, you will help support the School of Business strategic plan. Instructors will be expected to hold regular, online office hours.

Minimum Qualification:

• J.D. degree
• 5+ years of work in the legal profession
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as an employee at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated teaching excellence in teaching courses with high enrollment in higher education
• Experience with Canvas or another learning management system

• Teaching Evaluations from the most recent semesters taught (max 2 semesters)

$4,740 - $8,650 per 3 credits taught (depending on class size)
