Camp Experience
- bKnow and uphold all policies and procedures, including employee, parent/student, and crisis management guidelines.
- bMaintain a neat, welcoming, well-prepared, and managed environment that aligns with the school’s mission and best practices.
- bOrganize and maintain the environment before the start of camp and throughout the summer.
- bProvide proactive care and supervision of assigned students at all times.
- bLead students through a structured VBS-style camp, incorporating faith-based lessons, weekly themes, activities, and play.
- bCollaborate to implement engaging activities that align with camp themes and encourage learning, creativity, and spiritual growth.
- bFacilitate smooth transitions between activities, ensuring a structured, safe and fun environment.
- bAssist with lunch and nap supervision for full day students.
- bEnsure students adhere to Heights Academy expectations for behavior, safety, and participation.
- bManage and assist with end-of-camp clean-up and supply storage.
- bExecute additional responsibilities as directed by Heights Academy Directors.
Community
- bFoster a positive and nurturing camp environment that builds community among students and staff.
- bEffectively communicate with parents about student progress, behavior, and camp experiences.
- bRespond to parent inquiries through email, Brightwheel messages, and phone calls in a timely and professional manner.
- bCollaborate with fellow camp leaders and staff to ensure student needs are met and activities run smoothly.
- bAttend required camp meetings, training sessions, and special events.
Continuing Development
- bParticipate in camp orientation and training sessions before the start of summer camp.
- bEngage in team meetings for continued development, communication, and problem-solving.
- bReflect on camp experiences to provide feedback for future program improvement.
Required
- bHigh school diploma or equivalent
- bActive member of Heights Church
- bA passion for developing the next generation
- bDemonstrated ability to work well with children
- bEarly Childhood degree completed (preferred) or in-process
- bPrior teaching or camp leadership experience
- bExperience leading in Heights Kids or similar faith-based programs
- bCDA
- b2 years of teaching experience
- bCPR/First Aid and/or MAT Certified

Heights Academy operates under religious exemption; adhering to all guidelines and regulations set forth by Virginia Department of Social Services and – Section 22.of Code of Virginia for Day Care Centers. All state health and safety guidelines are met for the facility along with student ratios.
