About the Department of Health Administration
Originally established in 1949, the Department of Health Administration offers four major degree programs and four graduate certificates. The department employs fourteen full‑time faculty and four staff members.
Chair, Department of Health AdministrationThe Chair ensures the growth and quality of the department's programs. The position is a 12‑month tenure‑track rank open to Associate Professor or Professor.
Responsibilities- Maintain effective governance and management of the department.
- Acquire funds and human resources to support programs.
- Build and maintain alumni relationships.
- Ensure efficient internal communications within the department.
- Manage allocation of departmental resources.
- Collaborate on program planning and curriculum development with faculty.
- Maintain quality and relevance of educational programs.
- Develop faculty development plan and evaluation criteria.
- Balance faculty, teaching, research, and scholarly activities.
- Promote student engagement and support integration of technology.
- Recruit and advise prospective and current students.
Required
- PhD or terminal degree in a health administration‑related field.
- Eligible for rank of associate or full professor with record of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
- Extensive administrative leadership experience in healthcare industry, higher education, and/or public service.
- Commitment to maintaining national reputation for educating healthcare executives and researchers.
- Demonstrated collaborative leadership and organizational development.
- Strong communication skills and experience guiding organizational change.
- Ability to articulate a compelling vision that engages faculty, staff, students, partners, and alumni.
- Experience in budgeting, strategic planning, and resource allocation.
- Dedication to collaboration and interprofessional development.
- Experience recruiting, developing, and retaining excellent faculty, staff, and students of diverse backgrounds.
- Experience fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility.
Preferred
- Familiarity with CAHME accreditation process.
- Record of participation in professional organizations relevant to health administration.
- Ability to establish educational and research partnerships.
- Experience working with diverse research funding sources.
- Experience in fundraising and external outreach.
$150,000 – $275,000
