Position Summary
St. Christopher's School, the largest all‑boys school in Virginia and one of the region’s oldest boys’ schools, is seeking an energetic, organized, and mission‑driven Summer Saints Manager. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is passionate about creating meaningful, engaging, and fun summer experiences for approximately 1,000 boys in grades JK‑12.
Principal ResponsibilitiesDecember 1, 2025 – June 7, 2026
- Manage hiring process for Summer Saints counselors and coordinate onboarding with the St. Christopher's Business Office.
- Coordinate the Summer Saints HR Fair (April).
- Assist Enrichment, Athletics, and Vendor camp leads in preparing for their camp programs.
- Audit and maintain Summer Saints equipment, signage, supplies, and apparel; make approved purchases as needed.
- Coordinate Camp Leads Orientation (May).
- Meet with the Summer Saints Leadership Team as needed.
June 8, 2026 – August 8, 2026
- Oversee daily operations of Enrichment, Athletics, and Vendor camps, ensuring programs run safely and efficiently.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and manage logistics for Enrichment Camps, Athletic Camps, and Vendor Camps.
- Distribute weekly staff schedules, camp rosters, and transition information to camp leads.
- Provide guidance and support to the Summer Saints Assistant as needed.
- Manage camp staff payroll.
- Coordinate with the Summer Saints nurse as needed.
- Coordinate the Summer Saints lunch program with the school’s food service provider and the Day Camp Director.
- Manage Enrichment, Athletics, and Vendor camp carpool logistics in collaboration with the Day Camp Director.
- Respond promptly and professionally to any issues related to camper behavior, health, or safety.
- Communicate effectively with parents as needed.
- Oversee end‑of‑season cleanup, inventory, and closing procedures.
- Commitment to St. Christopher's mission, Community Pillars, policies, and initiatives.
- Familiarity with best practices outlined in the Employee Excellence Document and the Center for the Study of Boys.
- Clear commitment to diversity, community, and inclusion as expressed in the Diversity and Inclusion Statement.
- Highly motivated, energetic, organized, with a positive attitude and commitment to excellence.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple platforms.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Effective collaborator who can also work independently when needed.
- Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic, fast‑paced camp environment.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and a willingness to learn new software or systems.
- Up‑to‑date CPR and First Aid certification.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Must be able to move between buildings and fields as required by daily activities.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally required to work in poor weather conditions during outdoor activities and carpool duty.
