Leaf Spring School at Charter Colony, an accredited preschool located in Midlothian, VA, is seeking a Director for our Before/After School, School‑Age Summer Camp, and Elementary School Programs. We are looking for an experienced, creative, passionate, and flexible individual to lead, support, manage, and guide our growing school.
Responsibilities- Oversee operations to ensure compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
- Build strong relationships with families and staff.
- Recruit, hire, counsel, train, and manage all personnel.
- Maintain and manage enrollment.
- Ensure program quality.
- Create and manage budgets.
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Strong commitment to early education and school‑aged recreation.
- Top‑notch customer service skills.
- Upbeat, positive attitude and work ethic in a fast‑paced environment.
- Expert computer skills, including Microsoft products and child management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule between 6:30 AM and 6:30 PM.
Education
- Master’s Degree in early or elementary education, child development, or another child‑related field, plus a minimum of two years of experience teaching young children in a group setting.
- OR Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, with a minimum of five years of experience teaching young children in a group setting.
Other
- Genuine love for children and ability to relate well to them, their families, and teachers.
- Minimum of one year of supervisory experience in an early educational, elementary, or recreational setting.
- Demonstrated team‑building accomplishments toward common goals.
- Previous experience in a NAEYC‑accredited program preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
