Richmond, VA - Field Mapping/CAD Technician

Southeast Connections LLC provides inclusive infrastructure solutions for the natural gas industry. We build pipeline construction, installation, maintenance, repairs, stations, and facility modification.

Position Overview

The Field Engineer provides oversight and project support by monitoring and reporting production, quality, schedule, financial performance, and customer contract compliance, including traceability and as‑built drawings.

Selected candidate will be provided with a company vehicle and gas card.

Essential Functions
  • Participate in pre‑bid and pre‑construction process; attend customer and internal meetings; provide pre‑construction support as required.
  • Ensure customer contract compliance, including collecting traceability information and preparing as‑built drawings.
  • Review field daily reports for accuracy and update all tracking sheets.
  • Monitor project production, cost, schedule and overall financial performance.
  • Monitor and resolve customer billing issues.
  • Assist with scheduling of internal crews and subcontractors.
  • Assist with material procurement; review and monitor project material accountability.
  • Balance jobs at completion ensuring accurate final billing, materials accountability, and any other contract requirements.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or technical school training in drafting or project management.
  • Project Management Certification is a plus.
  • Two years of construction experience, preferable in the natural gas industry.
  • Ability to read and understand utility construction drawings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of successful project‑management practices.
  • Able to work and communicate effectively in written form, e‑mail, or in person with all levels of the company.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Possess moderate MS Excel and MS Word skills.
  • Manages own workload effectively, sets priorities and adapts to rapid changes.
  • Able to support a dynamic project environment with time‑driven deadlines.
  • Must be detail‑oriented and be able to multi‑task accurately meeting deadlines.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Successful candidates must be willing to undergo a drug screening and background check.
