Construction Operator, Heavy Equipment Operator

Overview

This is a full-time onsite role as a Heavy Equipment Operator in the greater Richmond region. This role will be responsible for operating and maintaining various heavy construction equipment, and ensuring safe, efficient, and timely completion of projects. This role involves working on site preparation, excavation, grading, and other site development tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced construction environment. Key responsibilities include operating heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, skid steers, graders, and loaders to perform tasks like excavation, grading, trenching, and other site work activities.

An operator should follow plan sets, models, and project specifications to complete work according to project plans and requirements, conduct pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition and perform routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning equipment, adhere to safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure that all safety guidelines are followed while operating machinery, as well as assist with general labor duties when needed, such as clearing debris, setting up job site materials, or supporting other crew members.
