Position
Description:
Are you passionate about early childhood education and making a positive impact on young learners? We are looking for an enthusiastic Child Care Teacher to join our team and help create a nurturing and inspiring learning environment for children from 6 weeks to 6 years old. In this role, you will utilize the Reggio Emilia approach to foster cognitive, social, emotional, and motor development, while creating engaging and supportive learning experiences.

- Design and implement creative lesson plans that support children's developmental milestones in cognitive, social, and motor skills.
- Create a safe, secure, and enriching environment that encourages self-esteem, independence, and positive growth.
- Document children's progress and communicate regularly with parents regarding their child’s development.
- Lead and supervise teacher aides and volunteers, ensuring proper classroom management and safety.
- Follow and adhere to all licensing and accreditation standards for child care programs.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant classroom environment in line with health and safety guidelines.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate goals that foster self-concept, independence, and skill development.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure effective infection control practices are followed, ensuring a healthy and safe space for children and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support program objectives.
- Education:
Two-year degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Psychology, or related field. - Experience:
At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. - Knowledge:
Minimum of 40 hours of coursework in Early Childhood Education or related fields (such as Child Psychology or Children’s Literature) or equivalent experience. - Skills:
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and communicate clearly (both verbally and in writing). - Physical Requirements:
Ability to engage in physical activities with children, including bending, climbing, and lifting. - Work Environment:
Comfortable working in a noisy, high-energy environment with frequent interactions with children and parents.
- Experience working with children aged 6 weeks to 2 years.
- Familiarity with the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education.
- Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education. - Certification:
Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate.
- Fast-paced, dynamic classroom setting with frequent interactions with children, parents, and staff.
- The role requires active supervision both indoors and outdoors, ensuring safety and engaging with children in a hands-on manner.
- Regular physical activity, such as bending, climbing, and lifting, is required.
