Job Title: Child Care Teacher / Early Childhood Educator – Infant & Preschool (Richmond, VA)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Start Date: March 2, 2026 (flexible)
About the RoleWe are seeking dedicated Child Care Teachers / Early Childhood Educators to join a trusted childcare program in Richmond, VA. This role focuses on children aged six weeks to six years and utilizes the Reggio Emilia approach to promote creativity, independence, and growth.
As part of a collaborative teaching team, you will plan and implement lesson plans, provide engaging daily activities, and ensure a safe, supportive environment for every child.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, develop, and implement creative and adaptive lesson plans for assigned classrooms
- Supervise and support teacher aides and volunteers
- Document children’s daily progress and communicate with parents
- Ensure classroom and playground safety, cleanliness, and adherence to infection control standards
- Promote cognitive, social, and motor development while fostering positive self-esteem
- Collaborate with team members, attend staff meetings, and participate in continuing education
- Apply Reggio Emilia educational principles in daily activities
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two-year degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Psychology, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 2 years working with children ages six weeks to six years (paid or unpaid)
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, noisy environments and manage multiple priorities
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate
- Familiarity with the Reggio Emilia approach
- Experience with infants and toddlers (6 weeks – 2 years)
- Direct hire role with a stable, reputable childcare program
- Flexible shifts between 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Monday – Friday
