Overview
The Treasury Management Sales Officer (TMSO) plays a critical role in driving growth and profitability by closing new business opportunities and deepening relationships with clients. They focus on building and maintaining strong client relationships with businesses in the $2mm-$20mm space within their assigned market. TMSOs should articulate cash cycle details, display an understanding of Treasury Management principles, and ensure prospects and customers are aware of fraud solutions.
Primary responsibilities include enrolling and adopting services for clients and building partnerships with key business partners (i.e. Business Bankers, Business Development Bankers, and Virtual Bankers).
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with Business Bankers in their assigned teams
- Schedules and/or attends calls on both Prospects and Existing Customers to generate new Treasury Management and deposit business
- Achieve or exceed specific production goals
- Manages and successfully closes new business with referrals from Bankers
- Proposes appropriate financial services through a consultative sales approach
- Proactively identifies deepening opportunities with Existing Customers
- Prepares and completes sales presentations, including any negotiated pricing
- Sets expectations with customers about the onboarding experience, including requirements and testing
- Prepares and executes implementation documentation to establish new services
- Coordinates with Onboarding Team to ensure a smooth enrollment process; manages issues if they arise
- Performs timely follow-up concerning newly implemented treasury management services to ensure the client is satisfied and understands the service mechanics
- Collaborates with Treasury Management Client Services team to deliver exceptional service and a seamless banking experience
- Assists Business Bankers with understanding treasury management product risk and ensuring Capital One’s policies are applied throughout the sales cycle
- Maintains and updates the bank's SRM system regarding sales calls, pipelines, and closed sales to enable monthly activity reports and revenue growth tracking by market segment
- Articulates cash cycle details and demonstrates an advanced understanding of Treasury Management principles
- Displays advanced knowledge of fraud defensive strategies and industry trends
- Analyses client cash flow patterns and operational needs to offer tailored solutions
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong client-facing skills to build trust and long-term relationships
- Develops creative solutions for complex treasury challenges
- Works effectively with external and internal partners (e.g. sales support, onboarding, servicing)
- At least 3 years of Treasury Management Sales experience
- Bachelor's Degree or military experience
- 5+ years of Treasury Management Sales experience

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. Salaries are provided for candidates hired to perform work within specified locations and reflect the offer at the time of hire.
Sales Territory: $115,200 - $131,500 for Treas Mgmt Sales Specialist 2 (CIP);
McLean, VA: $126,700 - $144,600;
Richmond, VA: $115,200 - $131,500;
Edison, NJ: $138,300 - $157,800;
New York, NY: $138,300 - $157,800. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range of that location.
