Manager – Indirect Procurement
Reports to: Head of Procurement
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Work Arrangement: Hybrid schedule – on site Tuesday through Thursday, remote Monday and Friday. Permanent, full‑time with 20% annual bonus.
Position Overview:
This role is part of SRG’s Global Procurement function and acts as a strategic partner to multiple business units (R&D, Commercial, HR, Manufacturing & Supply). The Manager works closely with stakeholders to align supplier strategies with organizational goals, compliance, and operational needs, delivering value through innovation and risk management.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute category strategies supporting functions such as R&D, Medical Affairs, IT, and Supply Chain (MRO, capital projects).
- Create sourcing plans with stakeholders to reduce risk, optimize costs, and identify opportunities for added value and innovation.
- Translate business requirements into actionable sourcing strategies.
- Manage sourcing activities across multiple categories, including RFP/RFQ/RFS management, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory standards, and risk frameworks.
- Track supplier performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives for service and cost efficiency.
- Maintain accurate reporting on spend, savings, and supplier performance metrics.
- Stay informed on market trends, supplier innovations, and emerging technologies relevant to assigned categories.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Life Sciences, Engineering, or related discipline; advanced credentials (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) are a plus.
- Minimum five years in indirect procurement or category management.
- Proven ability to manage complex sourcing projects and negotiate high‑value agreements.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with procurement platforms (SAP, Ariba, Coupa) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
