Automotive SkillBridge Apprentice Service Technician

Sheehy Auto Stores is seeking skilled Service Technicians to join our team and is inviting members of the military to complete an unpaid internship through the Skill Bridge program to train for an Apprentice Service Technician role within the company for a period of 120 days. Here, you'll work alongside some of the best in the business. You'll also be responsible for learning to repair client and dealership vehicles while maintaining a positive relationship with clients.

• Complete the training plan for Sheehy Automotive Technicians approved by Skill Bridge, maintaining good or excellent scores during the weekly training plan assessments.
• Work with a mentor to discuss repairs with the shop foreman or service advisor as needed.
• Communicate additional service requests to a service advisor as needed.
• Plan work procedures in cooperation with mentor and/or shop foreman.
• Provide labor time estimates to a service advisor as needed.
• Monitor repair time and update the service advisor regularly.
• Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care and operation.
• Complete story and documentation for client repairs.
• Attend company and factory training.
• Complete online manufacturer maintenance certification.
• Keep current with factory technical bulletins.
• Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste).
• Applies proper use of PPE and adheres to safety standards in the shop environment.
• Must keep the vehicle you are working on clean and free of grease and oil.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Authorized to participate in Skill Bridge Program (documentation to be provided to Sheehy).
• Must be authorized to work in the USA.
• Able to pass pre-employment background checks, MVR, and drug screen.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• During the duration of the training plan, you will be assigned one or more mentors to introduce you to the processes of retail automotive repair at no cost to you.
• This is an unpaid internship position for the duration of the Skill Bridge training plan.
