Position SummaryThe Summer Housing & Residence Life Intern will have the opportunity to assist with managing Housing and Residence Life duties. This includes but is not limited to Housing Operations, Camps & Conferences, and Orientation. The Summer Housing & Residence Life Intern will be able to serve as a member on no more than 2 Residence Life committees. The Summer Housing & Residence Life Intern will report directly to a Residence Hall Coordinator and/or Associate Director for Residence Life.

- Unconditional acceptance into a graduate degree program at Eastern Kentucky University
- Enroll in at least nine (9) credit hours per semester in a graduate degree program
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA in coursework leading toward the completion of graduate degree
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possess excellent computer skills (e.g., MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Skills in multi-tasking and the availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Possess excellent administrative skills
- Graduate coursework in Student Affairs/Higher Education Administration or related program.
- Experience living in university housing such as residence halls or student apartments.
- Experience working in university housing such as residence halls or student apartments.
- Involvement with student activities or organizations.
- Work within an assigned focus area within Housing and Residence Life to provide support and development.
- (Essential) - Perform and support other areas of Housing and Residence Life as assigned.
- (Essential) - Attend various trainings and meetings as needed.

The Summer Housing & Residence Life Intern is expected to work approximately 29 hours per week. Hours are flexible and will be arranged with a Residence Hall Coordinator and/or Associate Director for Residence Life. The Summer Housing & Residence Life Intern should expect to have periods in which required workloads and hours vary including the need to work some nights and weekends.
While the beginning and end dates of the internship are flexible, our preferred start date is May 10, 2026, with an end date of August 22, 2026.
